Asustor Lockerstor 8 AS6508T Enterprise

Streamline performance and storage with the Lockerstor 8 8-Bay NAS Server Enclosure from Asustor Lockerstor 8 AS6508T. Designed to provide ample storage for enterprise environments, this NAS array enclosure features eight drive bays, each able to accommodate a 2.5 or 3.5″ SATA III drive. Utilizing a 2.1 GHz Intel ATOM C3538 Quad-Core CPU and 8GB of DDR4 RAM for responsive processing, this NAS also sports four RJ45 ports.

Two of these ports support 10-Gigabit Ethernet and the other two support 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet. As a result, the Asustor Lockerstor 8 AS6508T is capable of delivering RAID 5 read and write speeds up to 2348 and 1040 Mb/s using 10GbE and up to 565 and 553 Mb/s with 2.5GbE. Additional supported RAID modes include RAID 0, 1, 6, and 10, as well as Single and JBOD modes. Hot spares are also supported.

In addition to its four RJ45 ports, this NAS also boasts two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for connecting peripherals or expansions. And speaking of expansion, users can also take advantage of two empty M.2 PCIe 2280 SSD bays to install their cache drives, resulting in faster performance. In addition to 256-bit AES encryption, the Asustor AS6508T 8 Bay Lockerstor 8 also features external protections made to withstand drops and burns.

Boasting two 120mm fans with WPM control, this NAS also incorporates taller heatsinks for better heat dissipation over older server models. Running on Asustor AS6508T 8 Bay ADM 3.4 OS, the Lockerstor also supports Windows, MacOS, UNIX, and Linux systems. In addition to supporting a range of featured and mobile apps, the Asustor AS6508T 8 Bay can support up to 4096 accounts, 512 separate groups, 512 shared folders, and 512 concurrent connections.

Dual 10- and 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet Ports
The Asustor Lockerstor 8 AS6508T  features dual Intel 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports as well as dual Realtek 2.5-Gigabit Ethernet ports. With a managed switch that supports multiple speeds, take advantage of up to 20 Gb/s of speed with both 10-Gigabit ports or up to 5 Gb/s on both 2.5-Gigabit ports.
SSD Cache
Users can take advantage of two SSD slots to install cache drives, available separately. Increasing performance over HDD-only caching by up to 60%, this alternative cache method can also be faster and more economical than an all-SSD storage array.

The Asustor Lockerstor 8 AS6508T utilizes PWM fans with smart speed controls and heatsinks with push-pin mounting to provide airflow, ensuring stability and maintaining performance even under high loads. The Asustor Lockerstor 8 AS6508T 10 design features heatsinks that are taller than previous models to deliver more efficient cooling and heat dissipation.

The Lockerstor 8 comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM and can be upgraded up to 32 GB. DDR4 RAM provides up to 30% greater performance than DDR3 while also lowering energy requirements by 40%.
